Special Feature: Extreme Tornado Damage 2011
The violent tornadoes of the 27 April 2011 Superoutbreak
wrought some of the most extreme damage ever seen. Grassy
fields in Neshoba County, MS, were plowed 2 ft deep; 98-year
old freight train trestles were torn up and tossed
around near Tuscaloosa, AL; 36-ton coal cars were lifted
and thrown 390 ft off tracks; pavement was stripped
from many roads.
